[ACTION for Route 35]
[It had happened again. By this point, the fact that the Oshawott had fainted wasn't even surprising.
It was almost as if the thing couldn't deal with near-constant training-actually, it didn't seem to enjoy fighting at all. Well, not every Pokemon could be a well-oiled fighting machine Skarmory or Scyther, but this was just frustrating. He'd deliberately tried to avoid having to deal with something like this. He did see something approaching promise there, so it wasn't just something to throw out, but he'd presumably have to beat it into being less terrible.
He (somewhat roughly) nudged the Pokemon with his foot, checking for a reaction, before just recalling it and letting Scyther loose on the now incredibly unfortunate Drowzee. After making quick work of that thing, well, time to head towards the Pokemon Center...]
[TEXT]
What do you do if a Pokemon is being generally difficult to train? My other Pokemon have been coming along fairly smoothly, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this one isn't. It seems like a bit of a waste to just give up on it, but it's just not very good at fighting.

[ Wait. ... Cue confused look. Did you decide on a completely new name, too, when you got here? Because he definitely remembers Lust being something not Isabella back at home. ]

Date: 2012-03-11 06:09 am (UTC)I had one who was a real brat.
I never really did anything-- he just started behaving himself all of a sudden one day
I guess he finally grew up or something
but I guess you could just like take it slowly with this one or something if they suck on the battlefield?

Well, I'll give that a shot, then. Do they learn well from watching other Pokemon fight? I've considered going that route, but my other Pokemon are fairly different in physiology.

Date: 2012-03-12 11:54 am (UTC)they do, actually
I've trained a few of my baby ones just by letting one of my big ones go in with em and do all the work
apparently observational learning really does the trick for some

I should mention that it's a name, not a title. People seem to get confused by it rather often here...
