01 [Video] [backdated to before port!]

Let's see, now...

[There is some clear fiddling going on here. Which is to be expected, really, given how many people currently on the barge are from pre-computer settings. It flickers from audio to video a few times before finally settling on the latter, revealing a man whose expression is less "panicked about suddenly coming back from the dead" and more "mildly annoyed at the situation."]

Though this has some features I'm unfamiliar with... I'm assuming this is some sort of radio, so if whoever's responsible for my presence here is receiving this... I'm having some difficulty in determining what, exactly, you planned to achieve by recreating my room like this. Were you truly expecting me to believe that all of that was just some sort of dream? If so, then you weren't particularly competent in doing so, since there are a number of objects that appear to be missing.

Explain yourself.

[This person seems a bit familiar to him Roderick Spode. He's sure he'll place it in a moment Roderick Spode. And in the meantime, he's struck with a strong urge to either run and hide or wibblingly explain himself to Roderick Spode.]

Well, you see, you're dead, I'm afraid. Sorry about that, old chap. Rum deal and all. And you're a very bad man if you ended up here and don't remember meeting an Admiral fellow before hand, although soon enough you'll be assigned someone who'll make you better.

Imagine, if you will, that you're a silver teapot that has seen better days and needs a polish or two to restore its shine. Now think of this cruise as the kitchen table, where your shine will be put back on you by industrious hands.

Your cabin has been modified simply to accommodate you, sir! If you don't find it to your liking, it can always be changed! ~

[

is this real life. King Bradley is used to human stupidity, but this is a whole different level of "does your species routinely drop their young on their heads" than he is used to.

He is so mad right now.

...moreso than usual.]

I didn't necessarily need to be told that I was dead, though I suppose it's useful to have some conformation. Now, this Admiral... I'm assuming that all of this was his brilliant idea?

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's convenient enough, I suppose... though, I'm going to hazard a guess and assume that you're not going to add swords to my accommodations.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Since it doesn't look like Bradley's going to get a clear answer anytime soon, have a tiny not-Xingese girl to the rescue.] I'm not personally responsible for your presence here, but I can try to answer any questions you may have about this location and why you, specifically, are here. It's still in part a mystery to me.
what_ho_jeeves: (looking up)

[personal profile] what_ho_jeeves 2011-09-20 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, the Admiral is captain of the ship. So to speak. He runs the whole affair, although not very well if you ask me. There's not even a shuffleboard on deck.
strangehistorian: (the helpful)

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-09-21 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid not.

[identity profile] systmadmin.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
[More new Users, it looks like. Sounds like a possible Inmate, too.]

Feel fortunate that you have a room that's familiar to you, at this point. It's the only normalcy you'll find in this place.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm...

That's quite the tragedy. How accessible is this Admiral? I believe this should be brought up to him.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
A pity.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[...the fact that a tiny not-Xingese girl is explaining this to him is... really not all that surprising, actually, so there's not much of a reaction outside of a vague hint of scrutiny.]

From what I've learned, I believe I've managed to put the general idea of it together, though, beyond that... I'm admittedly a bit lost.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh that's refreshing. Almost every other inmate she's seen come in has taken it poorly.] What is it, in particular?
what_ho_jeeves: (thinking)

[personal profile] what_ho_jeeves 2011-09-21 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Not very accessible at all, I'm afraid. I've asked him countless times to bring Jeeves on board and have been ignored every time. How does he expect a chap to get on without his valet, I ask you?

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Now, that doesn't bode particularly well... though, at the very least, it sounds like this isn't going to be dull.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[well, he's not overtly taking it poorly, at least.]

...well, there was one thing that I'm finding somewhat inconsistent. The injuries that killed me are gone with no indication that they were ever there, but an injury that I sustained roughly at the same time as the other ones seems to have become permanent. Is this typical?

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-21 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[like a responsible individual, perhaps...]

I couldn't say, unfortunately. It seems as though I've landed in a rather distressing situation.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Truthfully, I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if it was, though, knowing this place's nature. The Admiral seems to enjoy inconvenience.

[personal profile] strangehistorian 2011-09-22 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid it's necessary.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
I've noticed. Though, I suppose this would be slightly less annoying if I'd expected something like it.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
I understand, though it should be obvious that I'm not particularly happy with it.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
What had you expected?

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing, honestly.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Reasonable enough, I suppose. I'm sure the transition's easier if you believe in some sort of afterlife, especially the type with rewards and punishments for one's previous life.

[identity profile] notrueking.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Even then, it does seem somewhat mild for that sort of afterlife. I don't really know much about religion, but I was always under the impression that they generally seemed to prefer eternal damnation over redemption.

[identity profile] nicebluehat.livejournal.com 2011-09-22 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose it's rather like a reincarnation? Except you remain yourself, of course.

...It's not really like one at all, is it.
